Different kind of teachers in my life...Part Deux

So after a long struggle... I finally completed my Xth with 85 %.
Now the biggest aim was to secure myself a place in either of the reputed colleges in the city.
After consistent long runs from one college to the another , I finally made into a good college , that too not far from my residence.

The first teacher came to our class started teaching biology after a brief introduction about herself. She was in her 40's , long hairs, clear face. She was wearing a crisp Cotton Saree.. To tell the truth, I didn't like the lecture as I experienced that sitting in the college was a different aspect than sitting in school.
The lecture went on and on and on...! ( School lecture duration was 35 min while in college was 55 min ) . Thats it ! It was the first and the last time I ever sat for her lecture... ( Attendance wasn't taken till our batch because students used to prepare of Entrance exams sitting at home)
Sorry to say guys, I still don't remember what she taught or how she taught.
( you cant judge a teacher by her first lecture, can u? )

He was tall , dark in complexion ,neatly combed hairs with his usual white shirt and black pant.( Dont imagine him to be a character in MEN IN BLACK !! ;) )
He taught us maths. I started hating maths for the first time in my life. Yes ! Thats true.
His main drawback was he used to solve the very first sum in the chapter which was like a cake walk and expected us to solve the rest that was supposed to be difficult even for him I suppose.
He never interacted with the students. Just came to the class, did his job of writing numbers in the board and foooooooooo ! He was gone...

Strange teacher ...!

The English madam was short and healthy. She was very very strict. I still remember her insulting my friend for not knowing his mother tongue . She is from South India with a very good blend of English cum South Indian accent...!
She was strict with her attendance which made me sit for her lectures. I really wonder how I sat for that 55 min. Einstein's Theory of Relativity acted perfect for her lecture.
" 55 min was like 5 days ..!
"
I still see her few times on the road, I tend to hit the gas rather than having a pit stop.

We friends used to play football in between lectures on the basket ball court of our college. After playing we used to run for the lectures and knock the class door 15min late and still we were taken inside by our Hindi teacher. This guy was very versatile teacher. Thin , wheatish complexion ,very long hairs for a male teacher. He told us all those stories that was out of our syllabus. The stories were practical and political . It was put straight by him and to my surprise his predictions came true. One of that was the logical prediction of Ms. Pratibha Patil becoming the President of India even before she contested elections.. Yes he analysed politically and was true.

Recently heard he was promoted. God Bless him !

Practical and straightforward people excel soon, dont they ?

Dreaming our way

Dream is a semi-conscious state where we have absolutely no control over our thoughts and expressions (unless we master lucid dreaming).

Did you know that most of us spend six years or more of our lifetime dreaming? Research proves that all of us dream at least twice or more in our sleep though we may not remember when we get up. In 5 minutes of waking, half of our dream is forgotten and within 10 minutes, almost all dreams are forgotten. People who are blind from birth too dream. It is just that the dreams of these individuals are formed by other sense such as the touch, smell, sound and taste.

During roman era some dreams were even discussed and interpreted in the senate as the dream was considered to be a God sent message for the mankind. Lucid dreams are considered those dreams where person can take full or partial control of their dreams.
Most important fact in order to be aware that we are dreaming is practice. Writing down and keeping track of your dreams is very important. Second thing is noticing signs or triggers that can help us stay aware that we are in dreaming state. Once we start dreaming lucidly we could control the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. This is extremely important for people that have nightmares.

Interesting facts is that our body is paralyzed during our sleep probably to prevent the body from acting out dreams.

Different kind of teachers in my life...Part Uno

I always had an habit of observing people , their style , their body language etc. This wasn't just an observation but in my earlier days but I tried to imitate them too (Its a natural human tendency to imitate others though..) . This habit of me somewhat made a mimic.

I didn't take any special efforts to master this art but it was something easy for me. I still dunno why I am comfortable with mimicry than with writing papers...! ;)

Coming to the theme of this post , I have seen many kinds of teachers who try to put something they know into the empty bucket of the students..! Yes they try their level best. But its we students who ignore them at least once even if he/she has been practicing this art of teaching over decades , don't we?

The first teacher in my list was my 6th standard class teacher. He used to teach us Marathi . He was supreme in his subject. This guy was good to those who always stick to him and accept his sayings as biblical.
Half of the lecture used to go in hibernating, the rest was spent in hearing his advice , the complaint regarding a particular student about a mistake that he had committed years back..! He used to remind us of our mistakes committed in 6th standard even in 10th ..! His memory was equal to current 10GB SD RAM..
GOD CURSE HIS MEMORY...!!!!

The next on the list is my 8th standard English teacher. This guy was a lunatic. After coming to the class his main job was to look for a prey. The student who makes an eye contact with him will be seen with scars the next day ! He had plenty of reasons to thrash one. I still didn't know whether he came for teaching or wrestling..! The lecture used to go in silence as none of us knew the technique of defense. I was good at English at that time so he couldn't break my morale.
He thrashed my Benchmate and warned me as we were giggling when was in action with some student. I kept myself cool at that instant as I used to fight those days for what we call now as justice...!
Keeping in mind the virtue of forgiveness .. I forgive him.

The 9th and 10th class geography teacher was simply a bluff. Half of the lecture was spent in making the students believe what he said. Ya he was professional in it.
His stories include an house in Karnataka ( Kerala in other divisions , Andhra in some class ..) where natural gas fumes out of an house. People residing there used that gas to cook. ;)
A beautiful place he went but never knew the name.
Seeing an artificial Mansarovar in Pakistan, riding a scooter with his wife in the pillion seat in 12 feet of water.. etc etc. were his superhit stories :P
His imagination power was awesome..!
We never knew the actual chapter name till the very end..

"He could be a good grandpa one day to narrate such sagas to his grandchildrens "

History teacher came to our class , read the text-book aloud used to go away. I dont know whether she really liked that subject because her presence was never felt. Though she tried her level best , she could never do full justice. The students who concentrated well came out with flying colors but for others... no need to tell. I loved history so somehow my track record was good.

For maths, I didnt really expect a good teacher , but our teacher was fantastic. She was a South Indian full of brains. She put the habit of solving sums on our own without the reference books. Her teaching made the whole class concentrate right on the topic as she used to check anyone's book at anytime or call a random number to solver the sum on the board. Though she never insulted anyone for his/her mistakes but the students used to feel the guilty. She was mesmerizing, I really thank her for her prolonged efforts in making me learn what I wished to.

P.S : This post was not to point out the mistakes of my teachers but to share my experiences with them..!
Wear my shoes ... you can understand me..!

More than OBAMA....!

Barack Hussein Obama (Known as Berry in high school) was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Barack's mother was a white Christian from Kansas and his father was Muslim from Kenya. His name means "one who is blessed" in Swahili, but he was known as "O'Bomber" because of his basketball skills during the high school years.

Interesting facts about Barack Obama: he tried cocaine and marijuana, Barack uses Apple Mac for his computer needs, Secret Service gave him code name "renegade", Barack smokes cigarettes and he never drinks coffee, he is left-handed and loves to play poker.

First Day... First Tragedy...!!!

With a bag on my back, I was running in search of my classroom on the very 1st day. Yes the very 1st day of my I.T course.
My dial read 9.30 when I came across this person.
He was just a lab-assistant (I only came to know about him later...) but had a very bad mouth. This guy started making me face the music right away saying that the lecture was scheduled at 7.30.. this .. that!!. My brains were completely twisted by this nerd.
I did nothing but staring him for few seconds until he finally went away.
I was waiting outside my class (which I came to know from the few seniors I asked) till the ongoing lecture completed at 10.00..
Waiting outside the class on the first day itself wasn't going to make any good impression of mine on the minds of the onlookers .. though some of them might even be a teacher. who knows!!!
I was just moving to and fro just like an husband who drills the same way when his wife is about to deliver a child in a maternity home ;).

Finally the door opened and I saw a person in his late thirty's leaving the room .No reward for guessing at this moment as he was ought to be my lecturer.

I was really feeling nervous to enter the class of may be 80 from my view. I was having a cold fear but with all my courage I entered the class finally. The screaming class became so silent that I could sense even the slight disturbance in the air. Me wearing a Killer jeans with a white jersey that runs till my thighs, with crisp and long hair moving right till my shoulders.
I was stared by whole class. I could see some girls hissing ,giggling,Some talking in a mild voice that could be heard only by their neighbors , few laughing and few passing comments that only god could hear!!!

Without waiting much I just took a chair from my neighboring class as all the benches were full
and sat with the people who thought that they were late..(They might be thinking now that they were very early compared to me :P).
I sat for may be 10 min till an announcement came stating that the lecture was canceled which was supposed to be the last one!!!

I was literally frustrated and ask my mate about the next day's timing. That's It ..!! without looking back I just ran away only to stop at home :)

Wasn't that a tragedy ????
Well.... some might call this a transition to college life though..!

Every generation gets the Stonehenge it deserves - and desires.

Stonehenge is one of the greatest unexplained mysteries of the world. It's certainly no hoax (estimated to be more than 5,000 years old) and is probably the most important prehistoric monument in the whole of Britain.

When you visit Stonehenge, you'll find yourself driving for miles through rolling hills and countryside until, suddenly, you catch sight of this bizarre structure. There's an eerie feel to the area around Stonehenge, and for thousands of years it has soon silently, giving away few clues as to the meaning of its existence.

Excavations have revealed that Stonehenge was built in three parts. First, a series of holes were dug around 3100 BC as part of a religious ceremony. Then, more than 1,000 years later, the most dramatic stage of building took place. Huge blue stones from mountains in Wales were lugged more than 240 miles to the Stonehenge site. (Why would anyone do this in the age before the wheel ?) It wouldn't have been hard to find rocks closer nearby. The stones were set up to form an incomplete double circle, aligned perfectly with the midsummer sunrise.

The third stage in 2000 BC saw the arrival of the more stones, transported by land from the Marlborough Downs some 25 miles away. Then, after a further 500 years had passed, someone felt the need to rearrange the massive Welsh blue stones into the familiar horseshoe and circle we see today.

One of the great unexplained phenomena, the meaning of Stonehenge is still not clear today. Was it a temple, a burial ground, an observatory, or an ancient calendar?

"What Is This Life If Full of Care;
We Have No Time to Stand and Stare"

These famous lines from the poem Leisure by William Henry Davies say it all.

Are we so caught up fire-fighting that we forget to enjoy life? Do we burrow ourselves in mundane issues so that we don't have to face difficult ones?

Life is too short to be squandered away. Every moment is precious, so make the most of it.

This is what we have to realize. We go to College/Office , do complete our tasks, finish our jobs and return home do some hushy-bushy things and call it a end of the day! The next day we just revisit the above!
Have we ever realized whether we have time for our own personal happiness?
NO.. NO.. the things we are made to do doesn't contribute to our self-satisfaction or personal happiness, does it??
Have we ever thought of taking a day off and seeing the beauty of the nature that the almighty created??? Even though we might have, did we really stick to our plan??

"Nature" refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general". This is what the actual dictionary definition.

Forget the meaning , this ain't gonna improve us anyways.
Have you ever thought of trying anything that is written below????

Have you ever realized......

What a bliss it would be to stand near the fresh dew filled grass and observing the serenity of the environment by closing our eyes, meditating for sometime on a fine dawn when the sun is about to be born.....!

What a bliss it would be to listen to the trills and tweets of the birds and chirping of the insects instead of our usual vehicle horns, machine noise and commotion of the masses.!

What a joy it'll be to be inside a enclosure of trees and listening to the music of the leaves, the branches , the joyous woodpeckers ,the chill feeling that goes through every part of our nerves and neurons...!

The soothing soul relaxing sound of the rivers and oceans, the marine life with sea gulls flying in the golden sky, the cool pleasant wind blowing right on our face which makes us forget the time and the world.....

We must understand that every part of this life has an OMEN. The god shows us this omen during each of our activities. It is our duty to recognise this omen and proceed accordingly..
Understanding this Omen is not an easy job. We have to sacrifice everything from pebble to people in order to achieve this. But that's the genuine path that we were programmed to follow.

There is a universal language followed by each and every element in this universe. If u try to understand this language ... It wont take much time for you to understand this Omen and the protocols of the Nature, thus realizing things in much easy and efficient way..

"Watching birds has become part of my daily meditation affirming my connection to the earth body."
